Many articles and videos out there segregate turtles from tortoises. For example, the content for the below video is coming from an article written in diffen.com. Somewhat similar content could be seen in several other sites hinting that they might have originated from the same source.

Such spread of similar information could be due to mob effect with limited thinking on the part of the content provider, for various reasons.

But, according to classification system in place, all tortoises come under the turtles family. Going by that definition or classification, tortoises will just be a subsection of turtles.
